Here's some of the recent things that have happened on the K100 Morning Show
Beau began "Freezin' For Food." Beau asked you to drop by non-perishable food items to Ron Elbe Auto Sales, his home until he collects 6,611 pounds of non-perishable food items. That food is going to be delivered to area food pantries.
Maxim Magazine has listed who they think are the "25 Greatest Short Dudes of All Time." We had some fun with that list.
The MHS Fall Play "Antigone" is this weekend with performances tonight and tomorrow night and a matinee Sunday. Two of the cast members, Lisa Jacobs & Julia Mendeman came by to give us a preview.
Jim Huffman of 7th Son Termite & Pest Management spent some time on the show with us today talking about everything from mice to termites to insects and the problems they present. He also shared some of the more nasty situations his profession has gotten him into.
We
announce Macomb High School band teacher Mr.
David Wetmore as our newest Pella Corporation/K100 Teacher of the
Week. (Don't forget to nominate
your favorite teacher!)
Coffee Cake Muffins are on today's Cooking With Beau menu. He baked them live at The Old Dairy. Chris dropped by in order to taste his creations, but what he wound up with was the opportunity to finally shock him as listener Joe brought in a dog training collar. Two jolts was all Beau was able to handle before he removed the collar from his arm.
Then, later in the show, the folks at The Old Dairy used Beau's recipe to make their own Coffee Cake Muffins. They were kind enough to have a couple of them delivered to the studio. It turns out, Beau's muffins were horrible and The Old Dairy's are awesome. We've been told they'll be making them all weekend long so just drop in and ask for "Beau's Muffins."
Hundreds of thousands of mobile phones have wound up in Great Britan's sewers. We took your calls so you could tells us stories about things that you've dropped in the toilet. We heard several including people who lost pagers and even partial dentures.
Chris may have to move to England in order to watch what he believes may be the best reality TV show idea since "The Joe Schmoe Show." Chris told us about a new show where gullible contestants will be made to believe they are training for a space mission. They'll even simulate a launch.
Today on the K100 Morning Show:
November
is Home Health/Hospice Month. We got some insight into MDH's
Home Health/Hospice program from Deb Lawver who has 15 years of experience in
that area as she came by for a chat.

Clinic. We talked about dogs who regress when it comes to potty-training.
A world record domino attempt was nearly thwarted by a ... bird?!? Yep. That bird's not gonna be okay. We told you why.
Our good friend Larry Lynn came by to give us the details on the Eagles' Club Thanksgiving Dinner. It's the 20th annual FREE event. Kangaroo meat. That doesn't sound too appetizing, does it? Well, would "pork" or "beef" sound as appetizing if we called it "pig meat" or "cow meat?" A competition is underway in Australia to rectify their situation. Chris suggested "jeat" ... short for "jumping meat."
Nathan
Scott of Volunteer Now
will drop in for his weekly chat. He told us the Salvation Army is in dire
need of bell ringers during the holiday season. He said to volunteer, all
you had to do was call 837-4824 and talk to Crystal.
Apparently mom was right after all. A new scientific study shows that, indeed, if you get cold it's easier to catch a cold. We told you how researchers reached that conclusion
Beijing,
China is preparing to host the 2008 Olympics. One of the ways they're
getting ready is by retranslating some of the city's bilingual signs. Some
people call the translations Engrish.
We had some fun at the horribly translated signs.
